Walking through a memory
AJ

Memories can be fragmented and scattered, but you can never take away their importance and the security they can bring.

Hope

Falguni

The experience can feel like this and it can be rewarding and fulfilling and peaceful. This represents the journey from packing the suitcase to becoming that butterfly. You take the steps to go through that door and become that butterfly. The butterflies represent others in the journey, those you meet along the way. You’re not alone in this journey even when it feels like it. The moon represents the good times and the less than good times, but at the end of the night the sun will come up again and there is always time to bloom and an opportunity to go after what you want.

Beacon of Hope
Elinam

Part of the immigrant experience is finding your light in the unknown darkness.

Two Seasons
Jaylyn

Immigration is something you feel very grateful for and you feel free, but you may also feel the cold and isolated feelings sometimes but that’s life. This represents the immigration system and your way out is integrating into the society.

A Journey
Latifach

The beginning of the journey of an immigrant starts with the phase before coming, when everything is idealized, and daydreams are filled with possibilities. It's a time of positive mindsets and hopeful fantasies about what could happen. The second phase begins upon arriving in the new country, where the reality of the long path ahead becomes clear. Despite not being alone, the experience is deeply personal, seen and felt through one's own presence and eyes. This phase requires coming out of one's shell to discover new things. An arrow represents the chronology of this journey. The space before the arrow symbolizes the life already lived, while the space at the end signifies the experiences yet to come.

Migration Journey
Mayda

The immigrant experience is a journey that requires resilience, perseverance, and most importantly, hope. I believe it is important to never give up and embrace change and the journey for what it is. It is important to always remember where you’re from and how far you’ve come.

A Life Journey

Valerii

Do not be afraid to find yourself in this life.

New Destination, Challenge and Future

Fatme

The journey of an immigrant to a new destination, such as Canada, brings both significant challenges and promising opportunities. While the initial obstacles of securing housing, overcoming language barriers, and finding employment can be daunting, the future holds great potential for those who persevere, as they integrate into the community, build stable lives, and contribute to the diverse cultural and economic fabric of their new home.

The New Age

David

The image represents the different phases of immigration. The discovery, relief, the new people you meet in this process. Furthermore, the water represents the prosperity, abundance and the last image represents the ability to discover.

Growing and Coming Together
Abby

This image represents growth in new regions and the journey to find the right pod.
Everyone belongs in a pod where they can thrive and grow together.

Immigration
Dunja

It is not as simple as going from point A to point B. From being one of the herd to being a great tree amidst rocks is a very complicated journey. I want to show how complex it is and also internally complex. There is an internal journey as well. It’s not just one immigrant, but a family and a life that is changing. I want people to know that immigrant integration is a collaborative effort.

Migration Journey
Oussama

This represents my particular experience as immigrant, and it has been a journey that I've been learning a lot, but it's an ongoing process, because I'm still building my own path.

Just Behind the Door
Teagan

Everything is unknown, but the unique butterflies are on their own path in their life. Even though they don't know what's going to be on the other side of the door, good things are in store for them despite the negative clouds impacting their perception of the amazing life and opportunities and experiences that are just behind the door.

The Perfect Imperfect
Melek

Each line highlights a distinct and unique theme, that reflects the facets of our human experience. The first line explores the way we can combine two things to find relief and see the bright side when you do it. The point is that we don't have to choose one or the other. Each of our choices (also combining two contrasting things) contributes to us being unique.

The second lines explores your uniqueness and how different things influence our identity. Since we are different from each other we can get together without any problems. We are all heterogeneous, but we can accept each other for who we are, enjoy our lives together. Our heterogeneity is a strength, with which we can  ensure a homogeneous interaction. The moose in this line symbolize the commitment to diversity and for the confession: "Yes, we are different from each other,, but we are still the same. We all strive to go through life and we are not alone". We are not a straight line; we are getting mixed together; different identities coming together in a way that creates togetherness and a unique community. We need to accept us. Acceptance is the key to successful coexistence.

The last line emphasizes the importance of self-acceptance, accepting something deep down in your own heart. When you accept yourself, you can live a life in which you flourish, grow and find inner peace. Acceptance always leads to a peaceful ending. My image is meant to invite you to recognize the beauty in imperfection and celebrate that we are all unique in our own way.

Growth
Anonymous

A journey of growth through hardships and hopes that leads to opportunities while keeping its connections.

Through the Door
Zahin

This represents my view of immigration based on my personal experience, where the door is the centerpiece and represents the idea of immigration and how it's viewed by individuals prior to immigrating, though I noted that you can't actually see anything through the door.

Different Paths, Different Identities
James

People think about things based on their experiences and they have different paths that get them to this experience. This includes their upbringing, and different cultures that get them there.

Mess
Liam

You have all these different parts that inform who you are and none might pop to the surface or be clear to others but they are all still there.
The Hope of Not Now
Hannah

The resettlement process requires resilience and stamina. The time aspect is really big factor. There is a lot of joy that is chosen and even at times innate. Joy in the face of hardship. The beauty in this image is on purpose but it doesn’t erase the difficulties.

(Un)clear Path
Annonymous

This series of images is trying to lead everyone somewhere. There’s an attempt organizationally to fit within one clear cut singular direction or path that has already been established. Instead, when you create a garden of diversity you allow for experiences that are tangled and bright and exciting, leading to a more flourishing environment.
